The band was formed in 1980, in a village outside Halmstad. They carried the name "Killers" until 1983, when the name was changed to Savagers and they released their first demo. They proceeded to release "Preachers of Steel" in 1984 and another demo in 1985, before splitting up. They reformed, with two additional members, in 1986 as X-Eryus.
