Sara Gadimova (Azerbaijani: Sara Qədimova; born 31st May 1922 in Baku, died 12 May 2005 in Baku) was an Azerbaijani soprano. The singers Huseyngulu Sarabski, Seyid Shushinski and Khan Shushinski (Xan Şuşunski) played an important role in her education as a khanende, She was the soloist of the Azerbaijan State Philharmonic society since 1941. She also was the soloist of the Azerbaijan State Opera and Ballet Theater in 1957-1962 years and played “Leyli” and “Asli” in “Leyli and Majnun” and “Asli and Kerem” by Uzeyir Hajibeyov. All Azerbaijan mugams, Azerbaijan’s folk and composer songs and songs by the Eastern peoples were included in Gadimova’s repertoire. A lot of her records are saved in the Azerbaijan Radio and Television Foundation. She toured to a lot of foreign countries of the world such as Iran, Iraq, Germany, Hungary, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Tunis etc. In 1963 she was awarded to the rank of the Peoples artist of Azerbaijan.
