Sandy Stevens was a Scottish singer who had a No. 1 in France in the 1980s with "J'ai faim de toi" (sung with a heavy English-speaking accent). The song started life as the jingle for a French yoghurt commercial ("J'ai faim de toi" means "I'm hungry for you" and the hunger for the yoghurt was then turned into hunger for the protagonist's lover). The jingle proved so popular that it was expanded and released as a single. Of course, it proved Sandy Stevens' only hit, but it is still considered one of THE 1980s cheese (or should i say yoghurt?) classics in France, and no French 80s nostalgia show is complete without it.
