1) Aussie/Filipino rapper 2) British guitarist, singer-songwriter: Hi my name is sammy G and i was born in welshpool in mid-wales UK. My real name is sam gomm but i was christened '' SAMMY G '' by scottish ian the band leader of ''HANK MCGREGOR AND THE COMIC COWBOYS''. They were the first professional band i joined after i left school in mid-wales.Uk back in 1992. i was the drummer and also sang as well. After a few years as a ''COMIC COWBOY'' i decided to move on and play drums and sing again with another UK group called ''JOE LE TAXI '' this time perfroming zydeco music , My father ian gomm also played guitar in the band, He was a member of the well known 70,s group ''Brinsley Schwarz '' which also included Nick lowe as a member,It was a great experience for me to play with my dad! In 1998 i put my drumsticks to one side and concentrated on what i really wanted to be, The lead singer of my own band , I formed the ''SAMMY G BAND '' with some musician friends and we played all over wales playing festivals ,clubs and pubs. In 2000 i decided to go solo and perform with only my voice and guitar and a selection of my favourite songs including my own SAMMY G compositions . I toured all over mid-wales ,Then the south of England playing in London, Norwich , Brighton, And then all over Scotland and then on to Europe in Demark ,Spain , France and portugal.
