saltlick is a truly fabulous alt-country band out of eugene, oregon. they don't like being labelled as such, but 'a face only a mother could love', can be most easily described as a damn good alt-country album. if you don't fear twang, and like the music of ryan adams (when he gets country a la whiskeytown) and neko case, you'll dig them as much as i do.
