Salò Mentale is musical brainchild of Anthony Blokdijk (The Hague, NL) since 1984. Starting off as an ‘industrial’ band, with loose connections to Psychic TV, Coil, Laibach and Diamanda Galás (amongst many others), it played its debut concert supporting the screening of Pasolini’s notorious movie ‘Salò: o le 120 giornate di Sodoma’. The first publication on Salò Mentale appeared in 1985 in ‘Force Mental’, a magazine run by Belgian art-collective Club Moral. The group (it generally used to be A. Blokdijk and someone else...) played many styles ranging from avant-garde to rock to techno see also Unit Moebius = Jan Duivenvoorden - friend of Anthony Blokdijk // and SMVSUM (Salò Mentale Versus Unit Moebius) - collaboration between them http://archive.org/search.php?query=subject%3A%22Sal%C3%B2+Mentale%22 User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
