Sadettin Kaynak (1895 –3rd February 1961) was a composer of Turkish classical music. By his unique voice and religious belief, he wanted to be a HAFIZ(person who has learned the Koran by heart). Hafız Melek Efendi, Neyzen Emin Dede, Muallim Kâzım Uz were some of his preceptors. In the time of his studying around 1926, he wrote his first composition which is in type of Turkish classical segah music "Huzzam" and he named his song as "Hicran-ı Elem". Kaynak has graduated from Istanbul University and then he started to work on his researchments about Turkish native musics around South-East Anatolia. In between 1940-1950, Sadettin Kaynak has composed over 80 soundtrack for Turkish Yesil-Cam movies. After his paralysis appear in 1955, he started to fight with his ilness, however he passed away at Februrary 3rd - 1961 in Istanbul.
