Sad Face is a five piece alternative rock band from Seattle, WA. Pulling from a diverse list of influences, their sound can be described as somewhere between At The Drive In and Low; melodic rock with an equal affinity for noise and harmonies. Members of the original lineup first started playing and writing music together in Seattle in the early part of 2008. The name 'Sad Face' was first used for a March 2010 performance in Seattle, the first live performance for the group as a full ensemble. In May of 2010, bass player Jeremy Mendonsa left the band and was replaced by Max Larkin. Sad Face is: Joe Jellema - Vocals, Drums Max Larkin - Vocals, Guitars, Bass Joel Katzenberger - Vocals, Guitars, Percussion Nick Mendonsa - Vocals, Loops, Guitars Tim Mendonsa - Vocals, Guitars, Bass The band recorded their first album at Avast! studios in Seattle over three days in October of 2010. The recordings were all done as live performances, with 7 songs completed in the studio. Instrumental and vocal overdubs for 'To Use Another' were recorded later with the help of their recording, mixing and mastering engineers Johny Mendoza and Vincent Labelle. Johny Mendoza and Vincent LaBelle were also recorded as guest vocalists for 'To Use Another' along with drummer Christopher Icasiano (Speak, Bad Luck, Anomie Belle). The resulting album, 'Gosh Darn!', was released on May 31st, 2011. Sad Face continues to perform in the Seattle area and will begin touring around the Pacific Northwest
