Sabotage79 is not JUST another parisian band. It is firstly two men hanging out together for ages. And it's not all about sex.After having experienced the college rock band thing, Axel & Marc realised they were too old for Led Zeppelin covers and too young for Johnny Cash's. Nevermind, they took a step forward and created Sabotage79. At last, their musical life and inner needs were fulfilled. Now you want to know what is their moto ? It actually comes from the Beastie Boys and goes like that : Oh My, It's A Mirage, Tellin' You All It's A Sabotaaage ! . Yes, man. Rather than surfing the rock wave currently swelling over Paris, they follow airily the footsteps of alternative bands like Phoenix, Tahiti 80, Air, and of course Sébastien Tellier, to who they pay a powerful tribute in the rightly untitled Qui es-tu Sébastien ?, not to mention a bunch of talented foreigners such as Supergrass, Calexico, Blur, Zero 7, and even the Strokes, Scissor Sisters or Outkast. Sabotage 79 recorded two demos and is now about to release Dirty Waves, their first album with Caravan records, available from late may 2006. Recorded at home because coffee is better at home, this album emphasizes the spirit of the band : an explosive mixture of reactionary classicism and perverse subversion (oh my !). In a very close future, another chapter of Sabotage79 story is about to be opened : The time has come to play live in front of real people with a real critical mind.
