SaD MaFioSo is nickname of Canadian Jean-Philippe Chartrand, born in the cold winter of 1984. Raised in Laval (Near Montreal), that’s where he first got in touch with music. During his childhood, SaD MaFioSo learned to play drums so he could play along with his father who was playing the guitar. His passion for music pushed him to study other musical instruments and he finally reached the electronic music world at the age of 16. While Jean-Philippe was in school, he spent all of his time on computers making music instead of studying like he should have done. SaD MaFioSo started djing at the age of 17 and developed his style a lot in a very short time. Influenced by the work of djs/producers such as Vitalic, Nathan Fake and Sven Väth, he really forged his own sound; a mixture of electro techno and hooking melodies.
