S. P. Venkatesh is a music director and composer of Bollywood, Tollywood and Malayalam cinema.[1][2] Its being said that S.P.Venkatesh was introduced into the Malayalam Film industry by Dennis joseph. The major break for S.P.Venkatesh came in the form of "Rajavinte makan" directed by Thampy kannamthanam.The songs turned out to be big hits at that time.From then on he became an integral part of Thampy's ventures.Hits after hits followed.He soon became one of the top music directors of that time,the early and mid nineties.Indrajalam,Kilukkam,Thudarkatha,Dhruvam,Kauravar,..and the list continues.These compositions were trendsetters for sure. One of the major characteristic of his music was its simplicity.He made extensive use of guitar and violin orchestra in his compositions.He was able to create an identity of his own through his compositions.He has also handled the orchestration for many music directors. He won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Music director for his work in "Paithrukam",a movie starring Suresh Gopi,Jayaram directed by Jayaraj. Another area of his excellence was Re-recording.He is considered as one of the best in this foray.He is still active in the malayalam film industry through his background scores.Currently he is one of the leading music directors in Oriyan Film industry.
