There are two artists going by the name Slaw: One is the experimental electronica duo of Tim Walters (San Francisco) and Heathern Perkins (Portland). They have released one 99-track album, Snakes and Ladders. Another band called Slaw comes from New Brunswick, New Jersey. New Brunswick is in the central part of the Garden State, and is known to host one of the most vibrant Basement Scenes in the United States of America. This band has had anywhere from 3 to 5 members, Mike from Screaming Females once played guitar in Slaw. The current members are Fish (guitar, vocals), Cheeseman (drums, vocals), Tim (bass), and Phil (guitars). Slaw is currently on hiatus if not broken up. Their music is heavy. It is harsh. But the passion is not lost in distortion, nor are the accessibility of their songs compromised by excessive and unstructured noise.
