S.Q.F is a Japanese band formed in 2000 by ex-MASCHERA vocalist michi. and was originally michi.'s solo project, with ex-iLLUMINA guitarist, Nao. michi. and Nao performed in an earlier band together, called evil eyes, when they were in high school. The name S.Q.F stands for "Spinning Q Factor." The band began activities in 2000 and major debuted on Nippon Crown in 2001, although they switched labels just a year later, in 2002. In 2003, S.Q.F was changed from michi.'s solo project to an official band, members michi. (vocals) Yamamoto "NAO" Naoki (guitar), Naruse Shuuhei (keyboards), Ikeda "HIRO" Takahiro (bass) and Shuu (drums). In 2004, the keyboardist left the band and Kubota Keiei joined the band on guitar in April of 2005. After a herniated intervertebral disc, Shuu was forced to leave the band in May of 2005 but was quickly replaced by drummer GUCCY in June of 2006. GUCCY left the band only two months later, along with both Hiro and Keiei, leaving michi. and Nao the only remaining members of S.Q.F. Following this, michi. and Nao employed several support members including Maekawa Shingo (ex-The ROMEO, ex-JURASSIC), Kubota Keisuke (currently in SADS), YURAsama (Dacco, Brother, Psycho le Cému), and Ryuzi (ex-Trigger). In 2010, S.Q.F began a special project to commemorate their ten year anniversary, splitting temporarily into two bands, S.Q.F and Spinning Q Factor, S.Q.F performing music created by the band from the end of 2005 onward and Spinning Q Factor perf
