S※SPEED were an early visual-punk band that went from nothing to (almost) something. From struggling to sell to playing lives with the likes of SEX MACHINEGUNS, BY-SEXUAL and THE STREET BEATS, S※SPEED’s brash sound was finally starting to pay off, although the group ended up doing what many, many struggling visual bands do, and that’s split right when they’re getting noticed. This is my lossless rip of their first mini-album, simply titled “-S-”, released back in October of 1993. Holy hell, what a trip this was. Nothing but balls to the wall punk with a slight hard rock edge, S※SPEED has the classic punk snarl down pat, and the album is absolutely fantastic if you’re a punk fan.
