Ryan Amon

Ryan Amon is an American composer born in Elkhorn, Wisconsin, where he began composing music at an early age with a background in classical piano and saxophone. After receiving the Pete Carpenter Fellowship from BMI in 2003, where he studied under composer Mike Post, Ryan moved to Los Angeles and soon became an additional music composer for over 70 television shows, including Shark Tank, The Biggest Loser, American Idol, America's Got Talent, Dancing with the Stars, and American Ninja Warrior, to name but a few. He would later move to South America and it was during his time in Bolivia that he was inspired to form his own personal music project, City of the Fallen, in 2009. City of the Fallen would go on to be featured in various movie advertisements, including custom work for Marvel's "The Avengers" international trailer. In 2011 Ryan was contacted by director Neill Blomkamp to provide music for his dystopian feature film 'Elysium'. The film would lead to a variety of experimentation, including incorporating the calls of colobus monkeys and baboons, the buzzing of mosquitos, and Tuvan throat singing. The hybrid score featured the London Philharmonia and was recorded at Abbey Road Studios. In 2014, director Michael Mann would reach out to Ryan to compose music for his cyberthriller feature film 'Blackhat', featuring a combination of organic synthesis and talented musicians from Bratislava.
