With this LP, Russian Winters establish themselves as a dark horse of the Australian indie rock scene. A trip through shoegaze pop and distorted rock harmonies, Last Battles explores a rich vein of melancholy with grandly soaring guitars, fluid rhythms and “one of the more powerful uses of a horn section of late.” The band was hand-picked by Triple J to play Parklife Perth in 2011 and Pacific was Single of the Week in Drum Media.
