My Story I’ve been playing music in the northeast for the past 20 years or so, both singing songs I’ve written and covering songs I like. I’m a member of the Connecticut Songwriters Association, and attended The Swannanoa Gathering, a summer music program outside of Ashville NC, where over a period of years I studied with some of the finest songwriters in the country including Fred Koller, Bob Franke, Tom Paxton, Steve Seskin, and Steve Gillette. The songs I was writing were expressed in an eclectic assortment of genres depending on how individual songs took shape. My current project, however, started specifically as a journey into the blues, and though the songs that materialized turned out to carry some big band and country swing influences, they felt thematically blues driven. I contacted N.S.”Buck” Brundage, a New York based producer / engineer with Couch Creative Services. Buck had recorded my daughter Cynthia’s record in 2006 which was very well received. My initial thought was to just do a very basic guitar/voice demo to document my material, but after we started to record, we quickly realized that the songs were strong enough to justify the creation of a full band recording. I contacted Greg Wargo (guitar), Bob Fink (keyboards), Brenton Vaughan (bass), and Kevin Hupp (drums), and we proceeded to build the record. Once The tracks were completed and reference mixes finished, Buck passed the project to his good friend and production partner three time Grammy winner Phi
