The Melbourne 4-piece, who rose from the ashes of various up-and-coming local bands from their hometown back in '08, were brought together by a shared love of Rock ’n’ Roll, Country, Folk and Americana, and cut their musical teeth during hundreds of shows in Australia, the UK and the U.S. It was in Nashville that RUSHCUTTER met the man who would go on to record their debut material; legendary American producer Niko Bolas, long-time collaborator to the likes of Neil Young, Keith Richards, Warren Zevon and many more. RUSHCUTTER returned home and wasted no time, signing a major record deal with Mercury Records/Universal, and recording their debut EP “Call High Water” in Melbourne’s famed Sing Sing studios. The EP was released in September 2009 and received incredible acclaim from tastemakers and fans across the board.
