One of the most talented guitarists of his generation, Australian born Rupert Boyd has performed throughout the United States, Spain, Italy, France and Australia, and among numerous prizes is the recipient of the Andrés Segovia Award from the Manhattan School of Music. Rupert Boyd has performed at some of New York’s most prestigious classical music venues, including The 92nd Street Y, Bargemusic, The New York City Classical Guitar Society, Greenwich House and The Monkey. In addition to winning the Andrés Segovia award from the Manhattan School of Music, Rupert Boyd was a winner of the Lillian Fuchs Chamber Music Competition and winner of the Eisenberg-Fried Concerto Competition, which resulted in a performance of Rodrigo’s Concierto de Aranjuez with orchestra, conducted by Lawrence Leighton Smith. In 2009 Rupert Boyd has given performances with The New York Festival of Song and Moving Theater Dance Company, in addition to solo recitals for the Boston Guitar Society and the Omaha Guitar Carnival in Nebraska. With a strong interest in chamber music, Rupert Boyd formed the Australian Guitar Duo with guitarist Jacob Cordover. An international concert tour in 2008 included performances at Festival de Musique Classique in France, Project Cancion Española in Granada and concerts in Barcelona and Australia. The Duo has performed at the New York City Guitar Duo festival, was a prize winner of the Chamber Music section of the Australian Guitar Competition and had a recital broadcast
