Ruffino d'Assisi , also known as Ruffino Bartolucci , Ruffino Bartolucci d'Assisi or Fra Ruffin , born around 1490 and died in or after 1532, was a Franciscan friar , Italian composer of the Renaissance. He was born around 1490, possibly in Assisi , hence his name. A friar attached to the order of the Franciscans , he is documented in Padua , where he was choirmaster at the cathedral between 1510 and 1520. He was then employed at the Basilica of Saint Anthony of Padua until 1525. Attached to the Cathedral of Vicenza from 1525, it then returned to the Basilica of Saint Anthony, where it was documented until 1532. His date of death is not known with certainty: 1532 or later. His known work includes: a mass ; two motets ; nine psalms ; three secular pieces, including a madrigal beginning with Non finsi mai d'amarte , appear on a red chalk from the Parmigianino.
