Simple melodic rock with punk attitude Royal Lips - antiserious band truly serious about their music. Founded 2006 in Kuopio as a side project but soon evolved to be the favorite child of its members. Having church choir background as a teenager Pyrokitty had never sung in rock band before. However her personal peppery voice and vivid interpretation took its place as a key ingredient from the start. Beating and nursing instruments had already achieved seamless teamwork levels during the past years - Thom G and Phiit Drummer had had their earlier band projects. But the holy trinity was not complete untill Kitty came along. Royl Lips sound consists various styles from conflicting mess in a drop-d indie to jazz just to undergo a metamorposis in to a traditional punk rock. Influences come mainly from 90's american rock. Mentally Royal Lips operates as a punk band regardless to given limits. "Music is 'ought to be crafted by pure intuition", demands RL song writer Thom G. On first record (2007) Royal Lips presented just a small part of its versatile musical repertoire. From five songs session in record ended up first Royal songs ever called Nicotine Zoo, Chanel and Chicken Stardust. On the new EP Broken Record (2009) Royal Lips is even more close what band wants to sound like. Angst with glimpse in the corner of the eye, craggy and broken garage indie rock.
