Artist
Roy Loney (born 13 April 1946; died 13 December 2019) was co-founder and original lead singer for the influential American garage rock group Flamin' Groovies. After the Groovies released three albums, on Epic (Supersnazz) and Kama Sutra (Flamingo and Teenage Head), Loney left the band in 1971 (he was replaced as co-leader by Chris Wilson). His first solo recording didn't appear until 1979, nearly seven years after leaving the Groovies. He released a string of recordings from 1979-1983 on mostly small indie labels, eventually withdrawing from the rock scene for a while but continuing to play in the Bay Area of San Francisco.
