ROY G and the BIVinators is an upbeat joyous musical project driven by Maz Hermon. Based in the beautiful Aotearoa New Zealand, the band has just released their first LP The Rainbow Throw. This follows the release of their EP For the People 2008. The band plays a coherent blend of Folk, Ska, Roots, Rock, Reggae, Soul, Funk, and blues mashed up in a way that always gets the party going. This dynamic band ranges from a 3 to 7 piece for the live shows. Positivity and Joy are some of the key feelings in the energy the band brings to it's gigs and recordings. The band is based in Wellington City and often tours around New Zealand. International touring will start during 2010. Influences are many and varied but a condensed list would include: Jimi Hendrix, Bob Marley, The Upsetters, Ben Harper, Spearhead, The Roots, Trinity Roots, Fat Freddy's Drop, D'Angelo, A Tribe Called Quest, Rodrigez, Midnite, ... ROY G and the BIVinators was established 2007 and first appeared at the Parihaka International Peace Festival. Maz Hermon the song writer has been performing under different names since 2004.
