https://rowsofashesofroses.bandcamp.com - Rows of Ashes of Roses (also known as rowsofashesofroses! before breaking up, rows, or, simply, RoAoR) was a cybergrind/deathgrind band from Kansas City, Missouri. They formed when frontman Grayson DeLong (previously fronting the Alternative Rock project Anxiety Affliction) recorded a remix of the song I Hate You Guys from South Park as a joke for him and his friends. Delong then recorded a metal cover of John Cage's "4'33" and released it via a BandLab profile called "Ashes Of Roses". This project was later renamed to Rows Of Ashes Of Roses when the band decided to record their first single, titled "Rows, & Rows, of Ashes Of Roses (TIBDAA)". The cover of "I Hate You Guys" would later appear on their demo titled "rowsofashesofroses" and the cover of "4'33" would later appear on their Covers EP. The name "Rows of Ashes of Roses" is partially based on a book titled "Ashes of Roses", that DeLong was reading in school at the time the band formed. It also comes from an inside joke between the frontman and Elderoak based on that book about burning down roses and eating them. This is what the basis of the lyrical content in the band's debut single is. Rows of Ashes of Roses plays Cybergrind with heavy amounts of Deathcore/Death Metal influence, but also Harsh Noise, 2000s/2010s internet culture, scene music, and metalcore, resulting in a very eclectic musical style that is unlike most other bands in their niche subgenre.
