Rowan Rheingans is a British award-winning fiddle player, banjoist, songwriter and theatre-maker from Derbyshire. She is one-half of the fiddle-singing sister-duo The Rheingans Sisters and a member of vocal trio Lady Maisery, the folk ensemble Coven, and the collaboration Nancy Kerr & The Sweet Visitor Band. She has won two BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards (‘Best Original Track’ in 2016 & ‘Best Album’ in 2017) and is a six-times nominee. Rheingans is also part of various collaborative projects such as ‘Bright Phoebus Sings Tom Waits’ and ‘Rest’ (the latter being a secular requiem by award-winning contemporary classical composer Emily Hall). Rheingans continues to be in high demand as a session musician, including featuring on albums by Maz O'Connor, Neil McSweeney, and Brooks Williams.
