Rotem Or is a future-folk singer\producer, now known as Totemo (another last.fm profile). Her unique debut album Hard Magic is a merge of analogue warmth and digital mystique. You may find Beach-House-y dreamscapes in there, or a fascination by the depths of Caribou. At the same time she’s inspired by contemporary innovators such as St.Vincent, Sufjan Stevens and Lykke Li. Her music is clearly drawn towards the open spaced beats of the likes of Disclosure & XXYYXX, but at the same time you’ll be able to hear Iron & Wine running through her musical veins. Sometimes gently surfacing Like a shy Kate Bush being produced by Boards Of Canada, or The Cocteau Twins having a heart tearing session with The Books. She has played the main support for Lisa Germano and Calexico, and have recently been invited to perform in showcases in the CMJ Marathon in NYC and in the Reeperbahn Festival in Hamburg.
