Original band was formed in the northwest part of the US in the town of Napa, Idaho. They were originally called "SLAMMER" after a line in a song from John Lennon's Rock n Roll Album. The members of the band were originally Johnny Rokker, Lil Christina, Keith (Arock) Ayers, and Peter Azerrelli. They loved to take old 50's rock n roll songs, speed them up, and play them at high volume. Their favorite group at the time was the Ramones. They frequented a club called "The Happening" on the outskirts of Napa, Idaho where dis-enfranchised Midwest college students would go to get drunk and go crazy. One night while ripping through the song "Sweet Little 16" by Chuck Berry and doing their best to try to play the entire song in less than 2 minutes and just as loud as they could, an over enthusiastic patron grabbed the microphone off the stand and began slamming it into the amplifier behind Johnny Blue. Johnny Rokker grabbed the mike with one hand and full fisted smacked the guy in the face with the other hand which knocked a chip off of Johnny's right hand small finger knuckle and the patron went flying off the stage. When the gig was over Johnny's hand had swollen to the size of a catcher's mitt. The patron came over to Johnny, his face cut and swollen, gave Johnny a hug and in his English brogue, said it was the best night he'd spent since he'd gotten lost in the USA trying to hitch hike to LA.
