Born in Loughborough, UK, Roderick was a street musician who travelled round Europe for many years. His first intrument was piano but he later concentrated on guitar, developing advanced finger-picking techniques which he uses on both acoustic and electric instruments. In recent years he has moved back into free improvisation (an area he was experimenting in during the 80's) - playing solo and with the group Plexus and branching out from guitars to electronics. Roderick’s solo recorded work is concerned with laptop improvisations on selected loops and samples sometimes combined with home-made electronics… and guitar when the mood arises...
