Rockey was born Robert Rockey in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in 1971. Soon after, his parents moved around from Casa Grande, Arizona to Boston, Massachussettes before his Mom and brother landed in the small town of Adams, Wisconsin, later settling in Dellwood, WI when he was in the 4th grade. He began writing songs in grade school and had a few hundred amassed by graduating high school, influenced by pop radio, from Prince and Phil Collins to Def Leppard and Hall & Oates. He graduated a UW college after 5 years only dabbling in keyboard and production studio work while there. Rockey didn't pick up the guitar until after and soon eclipsed over 700 songs as his influences shifted to Radiohead, Ryan Adams and Wilco, to name a few. He only ever recorded a handful of his material in raw a capella format and hopes to record a demo in the near future.
