about

Rocketboy was a rock band based out of Columbia, South Carolina that lasted from roughly 1995 until they broke up sometime after the release of their sophmore album "Now That We Have Your Attention" (1997). Both that album and their first, titled "No Sign of Intelligent Life" (1996) were released on the R.E.X. indie record label. A few of their songs were actually on both albums. With a style that tended to range from grunge/punk (Gary's Garage) or funpunk (Mother May I) to folky ballad (Siren's Song) to a harder-edged angst-rock (High Dive) and even a shoegazey version of Mother May I at some of their later shows, they gained a relatively devoted following, but disbanded before they could release a third album. The band consisted of... Trey Baily: Guitar & Vocals Kip Bell: Lead Guitar & Background Vocals on "No Sign of Intelligent Life"/ Keyboards, Guitar & BGV on "Now That We Have Your Attention" Slade Curtis: Bass Guitar & Background Vocals Rob (Easterday?): Drums on "No Sign of Intelligent Life" Rob Easterday: Lead Guitar & BGV on "Now That We Have Your Attention" Tim Watts: Drums & BGV on "Now That We Have Your Attention" User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
