Robotronica, electropunk from Bellingham, Washington Some artists carry themselves like Atlas, backs stoically bowed under the weight of their artistic muse. Others cultivate a what you see is what you get non chalance, the non image as image. And then there are those, like the guys in Robotronica, who are part of what we’ll call the Andrew W.K. school of thought, and not just because both seem to enjoy beer and leaping around onstage (to their credit, no member interviewed was wearing any white denim or sweating a lot). Robotronica’s music seems to be an organic outgrowth of the things they enjoy most about life, namely, video games, pizza, and beer.
