about

Robertus de Anglia was an English composer. In September 1460 he went to Ferrara Cathedral to instruct the vicars in singing, and from 1467 to October 1474 was magister cantus at S Petronio, Bologna; he then returned to England. Two Italian songs are attributed to him; a third is lost. These two- and three-part songs to Italian texts (El mal foco arda and O fallaze e ria Fortuna), are his only known compositions, and intermingle continental and English stylistic features.
