Artist
Roberta Alessandrini was born in Verona and graduated with distinction in Harp at the Benedetto Marcello Conservatory in Venice under the guidance of Professor F. Bottino Rispoli. After her graduation in Venice, she mastered her skills with Pierre Jamet, Elizabeth Fontan-Binoche and Susan Mildonian. She won many awards in national and international competitions, among which the first prize d'honneur à l'hunanimitè at the Paris International Harp Competition in 1985 and, in 1984, the Genoa Rietman National Competition. After being a member of the Arena of Verona Orchestra, she started performing in concerts as a soloist. She was a guest in many Italian and European Festivals, where she performed in recitals, as a member of chamber orchestras as well as a soloist. As a soloist, she performed the most famous pieces for harp and orchestra (Mozart, Debussy, Händel, Ravel, etc.), playing together with important orchestras and ensembles, such as the Chamber Orchestra of Mantua, The Sophia Soloists, the Esterhazy Orchestra, the Rosetum Orchestra of Milan, and the Zandonai Ensemble. On many occasions she performed Mozart's K299 Concert, together with famous flutists, like Giampaolo Pretto and Enzo Caroli. She is also interested in unusual pieces for harp and orchestra. In 1995 she recorded J.L. Dussek's, J.B. Krumpholtz's and G.Ch. Wagenseil's harp concertos with the Chamber Orchestra of Mantua for the Naxos label. In the year 2000 La Bottega Discantica records released another CD
