Robert Mulder (born March 21, 1991) is an emerging singer-songwriter from St. Albert, Alberta, Canada. He began playing acoustic guitar at the age of 12, and started writing songs at age 15. Robert has won first place in the Calgary Folk Music Festival's Songwriting Competition (Youth Category in 2008) and the South Country Fair's Songwriting Competition (Emerging Artist in 2010). In 2010 he was awarded the Visionary Entertainment Emerging Artist Award in St. Albert and recently received a Music Project Grant from the Alberta Foundation for the Arts to aid in his studies at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts where he is currently pursuing a BA Music Degree. His five-track EP entitled "Taking You by Surprise" has received radio play in Canada and England, and his new EP "Across the Plastic Pond" is scheduled to be released this summer. His music is simple, yet powerful; a clear and unique voice with poetic lyrics that reflect a resounding wisdom of everyday life.
