Robert and the Roboters are a band out of Dresden, Germany. They started to perform in 1999. First the band was planed as an unique party event, but the Roboters found pleasure in playing and being on stage. They thus decided to become a regular band. The sound of Robert and the Roboters is a marvelous mix of instrumental 60s European beat, surf, lounge, easy listening, tango, twang, polka and much more other varieties of music from all over the world They specialize in playing eastern European traditional melodies along with some typical 21 century craziness. First of all the Roboters were inspired by the east german 60s big beat sounds like THEO ‘SCHUMANN COMBO’ and ‘DIE SPUTNIKS’. They’re still loving ‘THE SHADOWS’ and ‘DICK DALE’ as well more modern instrumental music à la ‘EURO BOYS’ or ‘LAIKA’ & ‘THE COSMONAUTS’.
