Its roots planted in skiffle, Robb Storme & The Whispers were an early rock 'n roll band from North London, United Kingdom. They began as early as 1959 at a Crouch End youth club, before switching to rock and roll in 1960. Their first single was formally released as a Robb Storme solo outing: 'Love Is Strange' (a cover version of a Mickey & Sylvia song from 1956), coupled with 'Shy Guy', a song written by the band's keyboardist, Wilson Malone. One more unsuccessful single on Columbia followed in November 1965 before they evolved into the psych-pop outfit Orange Bicycle in 1967.
