Rob Rokicki is Drama Desk, Lortel, and Off-Broadway Alliance nominated composer/lyricist. He is a member of the Dramatists Guild, Actor's Equity, the American Federation of Musicians, and an alum of the Tony Award-winning BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Writing workshop. As a writer, Rob wrote the music and lyrics for the critically acclaimed Off-Broadway musical THE LIGHTNING THIEF: THE PERCY JACKSON MUSICAL, for Theatreworks USA (book by Joe Tracz). The hourlong adaptation ran in 2015 and was nominated for a Lortel Award for Outstanding Musical before touring the country. The two-act adaptation was nominated for a Drama Desk Award in 2017 for Outstanding Musical. Rob is working on his next album, a recording of his graphic novel musical MONSTERSONGS. Rob’s musical, LOVE, NY (co-written with Mike Ruby) won the 2009 American Harmony Award and was presented at New World Stages (NY), Curtain Call (CT), and Oklahoma University. Rob has had work featured in the York's NEO series, at Lincoln Center, Joe's Pub, Ars Nova & at universities internationally. Also with Ruby: RELATIVITY (Theatre Row, selected for The Pitch at Fingerlakes Musical Theatre Festival), 20 TO LIFE (American University), STRANGE TAILS (West Village Musical Theatre Festival; Best Musical, Best Lyrics, Best Score, Best Book; ANT fest).
