Although best known for her own trio, Riitta Paakki has paid her dues in a number of Finnish jazz groups from the UMO Jazz Orchestra to Jenny Robson Acoustic Band and beyond. The pianist is a 2002 Sibelius Academy Jazz Department graduate who also teaches music. The aforementioned Riitta Paakki Trio was founded already in 1996 and consists of the pianist herself, bass player Ape Anttila and drummer Mikko Hassinen.
