Artist
Rick de Leeuw (born 10 November 1960 in Haarlem, The Netherlands) is a Dutch author, artist, songwriter and singer, best known for his years as frontman of Dutch-language, Amsterdam-based rock band, Tröckener Kecks (1980-2001). Following the demise of the 'Kecks', De Leeuw performed in theaters with Flemish pianist, Jan Hautekiet. He became an actor, author, novellist, columnist, radio and TV host and what not. He is perhaps more of a celebrity in the Flemish-speaking parts of Belgium than in his native Netherlands. Since 2015 he lives in Flanders, in the village of Heks to be precise. As a solo artist he released six albums thus far: WAAR (2008, formally credited to Hautekiet & De Leeuw), Beter als (2013), De parels en de zwijnen (2014), Zonder omweg (2019), Lieg me de waarheid (2022) and Het komt allemaal goed (2025).
