Releasing records since 1970, Richard Pinhas is a key figure in the international development of electronic rock music. Pinhas is the father figure of an entire musical movement in France. His band Heldon fused electronics and rock to create a pioneering, aggressive music. Active since 1979, Masami Akita, aka Merzbow, is considered the originator of Japanese noise music. He has recorded and released nearly 100 CDs andhas been called "...the most important artist in noise music" by the All Music Guide.
