Rich Vreeland (also known as Disasterpeace) is a freelance composer / sound designer based in San Francisco, CA, with a focus on producing and directing interactive treatments for games. He grew up in New York clacking rhythms on his teeth and writing guitar licks, before graduating from Berklee College of Music with a Bachelor's of Music in Music Synthesis. Along the way he interned with Singapore-MIT GAMBIT and Pi Studios, writing original music for well-established franchises such as Bomberman and Bonk, and became an Audio Jurist for the Independent Games Festival. Rich has worked on a growing number of platforms, including the XBOX360, Nintendo Wii, Playstation 3, PC, Mac, Flash and iOS, and knows his way around middleware tools like FMOD. No stranger to programming, he personally developed a critically acclaimed interactive music game in 2010. Disasterpeace began writing chipmusic in 2004, as a means of iterating on guitar-based material quickly. Over the years a matter of convenience has become a matter of passion; Disasterpeace has released 5 full-length albums, 3 EPs, and numerous soundtracks for independent games, while always striving to keep a genre known for its limitations fresh. In 2007, Disasterpeace started PAUSE, a chipmusic netlabel with fellow chipmusician and games composer Phlogiston (Super Crate Box, Spelunky). The label was awarded "Best Chiptune Label" in 2008 by its peers in the chipmusic space. User-contributed text is available under the Creative
