RHYTHMIC TIDE is a play on the words "Sound Waves." RHYTHMIC TIDE is a musical project for singer/songwriter John Manly. With RHYTHMIC TIDE, the focus is on setting a mood and evoking emotions both lyrically and musically. Stylistically influenced by acts of the 80's New Wave era, such as Icehouse, Gary Numan, Pseudo Echo amongst others. Inspired by Iva Davies (Icehouse), began recording tracks such as "Wire and Walls" and "Pages of Dusty Old Memories". In June 2007, under the name of Rhythmic Tide released their first EP, titled "Wire and Walls." This contained 4 tracks. 'Wire and Walls', 'Pages of Dusty Old Memories', 'Pandora's Box' and an instrumental track, "Lost Frontier". This was followed in Early September 2007, with the single "Depths of Insanity". October 2007, saw the release of the first RHYTHMIC TIDE album, 'MIND FRAGMENTS.' This release was a 50/50 split between songs and instrumentals. During the recording of 'MIND FRAGMENTS', John developed an interest in the music of Australian industrial / electronic artists such as Empty and Pask. With positive feedback from several other artists, again under the name of RHYTHMIC TIDE, a follow up EP was release in May 2008, titled "Sonic Interlude." This consisted of four instrumental tracks. June 2009, saw the release of the second Rhythmic Tide album titled "The Color of Blue."
