Rhubarb Whiskey released their first full length album in July 2011. It features original murder ballads, covers of classic american folk songs and a unique tale of bears and booze whose lyrics were penned by the infamous award winning author Poppy Z. Brite. They are already hard at work on album #2 and are continuing to craft tintype tales of heartache, murder, drinking, and the open road. BAND HISTORY What do you get when a queer poet, a punk guitarist and a fey violinist come together? Rhubarb Whiskey. Rhubarb Whiskey was formed by Boylamayka and Emchy in early 2008. Boylamayka, former guitarist for Berkeley punk band Subincision, contributes mandolin, guitar, and upright bass, and vocals to the duo. Emchy, a veteran of the San Francisco spoken word scene, sings and plays
