Artist
With the release of the collaborative album These Wings Without Feathers featuring Brewer and Lisa Gerrard, Brewer's music was introduced to an international audience. The subsequent release of his debut album The Ebbing Wings of Wisdom, began to characterise his distinctive sound. Originally released under the project title Ronan Quays, The Ebbing Wings of Wisdom has been re-released in 2007. People such as BBC presenter Charlie Gillett have championed Brewer’s work with radio airplay. More recently, he has composed numerous original scores and has contributed music for the soundtracks of The Path to 9/11, and the Videogame Homeworld. Unusually Brewer uses the human voice as an instrument, himself a Vocalist as well as a Composer. A gentle intensity infuses his work; Brewer’s brand of atmospheric seduction spans the spectrum of human emotions. Brewer’s latest album, using the name Hotel de Ville for both the artist and album, marks a creative departure from earlier work, embodying a modern and more up-tempo framework. Mixing Classical instrumentation, Trip-hop beats and a 60’s Cinematic feel, Brewer crafted the album almost entirely alone over the course of the past year. http://www.rhettbrewer.com http://www.hotel-de-ville.com User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
