Reverend William Burk also known as Lil Chuuuch, is a Wu-Tang Clan affiliated hip hop artist. He is also a member of the new hip hop/experimental group Achozen (alongside RZA and Shavo Odadjian of System of a Down). Born in the city of Detroit in 1982, Burk began his creative lifestyle at an early age. He started first by reading the poetic styles of Maya Angelou and Langston Hughes. These poets influenced him to begin writing his own poetry in which he could freely express his innermost feelings. As his poetry matured Burk began listening to rap artists such as Blackstar, the Wu-Tang Clan, Dead Prez, and Killarmy. These artists significantly influenced Burk to set his poetic lyrics to beats. After moving to Chicago, Burk started to take his music seriously and composed a catalog of over forty songs, which he began to promote and market himself. He became a regular performer at many of the premier clubs in Chicago including Metro, Doubledoor, and Hot House. All this visibility led to success and radio airplay on such stations as Chicago Northern University Radio, Northwestern University Radio and Chicago's leading hip-hop station WGCI 107.5. Burk also performed on The Source Unsigned Hype Live Tour. This was a freestyle competition held in various cities around the country. Burk competed in this competition in Chicago and made it to the final round. In addition to the competition, Burk has appeared on various nationally syndicated shows.
