Reverend Busker (Michael J. Sullivan, ASCAP) is an accomplished busker and songwriter who also sings, plays guitar, mandolin, and fiddle. Feeling pangs from his service in the Vietnam War, he started busking in 1968 in Dupont Circle, Washington DC. He decided to model his life after authentic blues street musicians. He adopted the blues finger-picking guitar style. Shortly thereafter he moved to music attending the Jeff First School of Music near Berklee College. He immersed himself in the Boston Back Bay music scene. He attended the New England Conservatory Summer School studying under the world famous jazz teacher and pianist, Rand Blake. His real music education was just starting . . . he busked all over the United States in Boston, New York City, San Francisco, New Orleans, Chicago, Toronto, Denver, Boulder, Atlanta, and Washington D. C. He has also busked in the Boston area -- Newburyport, Burlington VT, Montpelier VT, Martha's Vineyard, Nantucket. In the Los Angeles area, he busked at Venice Beach.
