RMF were perhaps the most exciting performers of their generation, known for their feverish, crotch-grabbing dance moves and high-pitched voices punctuated with squeals and titters. As years went by, they became increasingly freakish figures β Middle-aged man-children weirdly out of touch with grownup life. Their skin became lighter and their noses narrower. RMF surrounded themselves with children in the studio and at home, often wearing germ masks while traveling and keeping a their elderly dog, named Waffles, as one of their closest companions. In 2008, they were cleared of charges regarding the molestation of a 13-year-old cancer survivor during the recording of their album, "California Gold". RMF had been accused of plying the boy with alcohol and groping him. The case took a fearsome toll on the band's career and image, and RMF fell into serious financial trouble. Their 2009 album "Thriller 2" β which included the blockbuster hits "Take Me Higher (than Heaven)" "Tuff Guys" and "Jump off the Slide" β remains the potentially biggest-selling album of all time, with more than 26 million copies expected to be sold.
