Resistência was a Portuguese band formed in the 90's and consisted of the most influential Portuguese artists of the time which had their own bands and their own identity. Resistência mainly had songs from those same artists and bands but the songs given a unique approach mainly with the use of acoustic guitars. They quickly became immensely popular and to this day remains of the most successful projects in Portuguese music. They recorded an amazing album called Live at Armazém 22, an iconic venue in Portugal. This supergroup played also many relevant political songs of the Portuguese folklore from before the Carnation Revolution in 1974, hence their name. Indeed of their albums, called Sons of Dawn (Filhos da Madrugada) was mainly based on songs by Zeca Afonso (José Afonso).
