Resgate is a Brazilian rock band formed by Christian musicians in the city of São Paulo on May 5, 1989, and has been active for three decades. It is formed by Zé Bruno (vocals and guitar), Hamiltom Gomes (guitar), Marcelo Bassa (bass) and Jorge Bruno (drums). Although it started its activities in the late 1980s, it gained popularity in the Christian music scene in the following decade, at a time when bands such as Oficina G3, Fruto Sagrado, Katsbarnea, Novo Som and Catedral were giving strength to the so-called gospel movement. The band's first album, Vida, Jesus & Rock'n'Roll, was released in 1991, but the group's musical maturity began in 1995 with On the Rock, one of the most praised albums of the band. At the end of the 1990s, the group's music underwent changes. The album Resgate (1997) and its successor Praise (2000) embraced Britpop, in contrast to the hard rock of previous projects. From there, the group released some live albums and other original works. In 2006, with the official entry of Dudu Borges into the lineup, Resgate released Até eu Envelhecer. With more than twenty years of career, Resgate experienced in 2010 one of the most popular moments in its history with the band joining the Sony Music roster and the release of the praised Ainda não é o Último, which led the group to a series of concerts.
