1) Requin are a forward-thinking art rock group from Brisbane, Australia. Forming in 2016, their name was found in the malfunctioning television of a local fish and chip shop. The screen was caught switching between the bright, numbing, comfort of Australian TV quiz ‘Deal or no Deal’ and the frantic, grey footage of a shark attack (un attaque de requin) reported by a French news channel. This tension and release between opposing things has found its way into Requin’s creation of intricate, art-focused pop music. Requin officially disbanded in early 2021 and released their debut and farewell album 'Shark' in mid-2021. 2) Requin was a 4-piece heavy hardcore band from Seattle, WA, active from April 2008 until September 2010.
